Tiny Player For Mac

Author here: got tired of iTunes and Vox being too bloated, wrote a player to suit my needs. This is 1.0 so please don't expect too much yet. Will try to push some updates through Sparkle soon. UPDATE: Version 1.0.6 is out now with FLAC support (macOS 10.13 only) and several smaller improvements. You can update to the latest version from the app menu.

Please let me know if you run into any problems. UPDATE 2: Version 1.0.9 is out now with repeat/shuffle modes, bitrate/format indicator, better seeking and a few fixes. Thanks for the app.

A few feature requests: Support for flac, ape and all other lossless formats, please! Is there a way to send a whole folder from Finder to TP with a shortcut AND a right click menu? Last.fm support Option to sort tracks by filename (so the tracks would play in the same order as they are sorted in Finder) I'd be willing to pay for this because I really really want just a simple music player without all the extra premium features, cloud streaming, etc - just a good old music player like Foobar.

The commandline tool decodes everything in one go and writes the output to another (large) file. Noteburner m4v converter plus for mac. For playback I need a library that can decode arbitrary chunks of the file directly into the sound card buffer. I mentioned ffmpeg but I really meant the ffmpeg library not the commandline tool.

There's also libflac which is similar but the REAL issue is that I cannot use either of them without rewriting the audio engine to accommodate 3rd party decoders in the first place. Still looking around for a decent existing one. You are the best.

Thank you for your comments! All this time I was assuming that there was no native macOS support for FLAC and that I would have to do a lot of work to add it. I dismissed the fact that my Mac actually did do Quicklook previews of FLAC files, thinking that the support for that was added by some other 3rd party app I had installed on my computer. However, it turns out that macOS 10.13 High Sierra has OFFICIAL & NATIVE support for the FLAC codec.

Which means it's going to be very easy to add. High Sierra only, but still. Listed here:.
