Finished my first season with Swansea last night. It had looked like a bit of a disaster, ten games without a win saw us 21st in League One. I thought I had a decent squad but they looked useless. I wasn't all that optimistic of surviving if I'm honest. Trundle comes back from injury though, and I bring in a veteren defensive midfielder as well as Rhys Weston from the enemy.

Things started to look up as we won seven on the bounce, the went on a four game win/loss run before getting another three wins in a row. By now we were in the play-off spots. I wasn't really that excited about the play-offs, I've never gone up through them ever, but it was amazing to be up there after being 1st.

Brought in a few more loans, including another from the enemy, Joe Ledley, and he prooved himself to be quite a hit. My three strikers, Trundle, Akinfenwa and tranfser Craig Dargo were all on fire. On the last day it looked like we'd finish 3rd, but ended up with a 2-2 draw to put us 5th. A 3-2 loss followed by a 3-1 loss saw us fail to go up. I got offered a new contract and 600k transfer money. Had a few expensive signings lined up and it felt really good, we felt like a big team. Not all the signings worked out.

Ledley decided to bugger off to Hibs in Scotland rather than join the growing group of Welsh lads I had (managed to bring in Oster on the cheap too), so I went the way many managers do and brought in a load of cheap Slovenians. Arsenal (double winners) offered my a friendly at home, I accepted it, but it never appeared in my list, so guess it's not happening. I'm pretty confident in my team this year though. It's a tough league though. I don't fancy the play-offs, but there's strong competition for those two automatic spots.

I got sacked as Spurs manager in February of first season lol lost first game to arsenal 3 v 2 then i drew the next 5 and won next 2 never really escaped from midtable, my problem was i was leading but no matter what minute of the match i went ahead the other team would equalise or score 2 quick goals, even if i scored in 89th minute i still ended up losing a few games. Anyway i got sacked and went to rotherham, 4 points off play offs, drew first game, lost last 5 games and ended up relegated by 1 point lol. So i resigned, watched England win the world cup in Germany beating Brazil, France and finall sweden to clinch the world cup. Something weird i noticed in beginning of October of season 1 was the world rankings, USA were first followed by Mexico then the usual Brazil, Argentina, Czech Republic, Spain etc. Made no sence at all USA were like 200 points ahead of Brazil. Go defensive after you take the lead: change to counter-attack, slow the tempo and increase time wasting (and tell your forwards to run with ball and also hold it).

Should do the trick. Update on my team: Part of those are still just regulars in my B squad (ex: Kerlon, Renan and Gioda need 1 more season to gain the spanish citizenship). Won the treble last season (Vitti scored a brace in the uefa cup final against Roma ). Still have 31m to spend. Ive taken over the newcastle job, had 1.7m to spend with 1 week of transfer window remaining so ive sold Milner to everton for £5m and Viana to some portuguese club for 2.9m allthough im paying him 9k till 2008 cos he had to make a paycut, i bought in Diarra from Lyon for 5.1m and in january im selling Bowyer to hearts for 1.9m and bringing in Leyrielton pending work permit, im also after Deschacht, u should check them out they have really good stats and are cheap as chips. Im unbeaten since i took over, about 4th in league. Owen is on fire he got 27 goals previous season and so far this season he has 6 in 7 for club.

5 in 6 in the league and he has 5 in 5 for England. I was in about 5th in prem, Luque had 16 goals, Owen 15 goals and Freddy Shepherd decided 1 day before end of january transfer window to take club matters into his own hands due to the financial state of the club (+£1m balance) and sell them both to Man Utd (Luque for 13m) and Arsenal (Owen - 18m) and he sold NZogbia who had been playing well for 3m to Charlton. Ended season in 11th as only strikers i had were Ameobi and Chopra who scored a total of 2 goals between them. He told me a ferw days before to sell players so i sold like 7 then he said i hadnt sold enough, anyway ive spent £7 on John Obi Wan Kenobi, £12m on Diego (4m initial fee) and just need another striker and some DC's and ive got £20m left to spend. Finally got it installed and have started playing.

Pretty damn overwhelming having passed over the first incarnation of Football Manager but I think i've just gotta get used to where everything is now. Started as West Ham.

I skipped over summer transfers for the time being and with the squad I begin with (and Pardew's tactics ) I'm lying about mid-table in the Prem after a dozen or so games. I've already beaten the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal and grabbed a draw against Chelsea but i'm really struggling to win the games I should be winning. Really havent got the tactics right at home/against lesser teams.
